Light & Temperature

Money Plant N'Joy does well in medium to bright indirect sunlight, and can grow under fluorescent lights as well. If exposed to bright, indirect sunlight, your Marble Prince plant will have more yellow variegation in its leaves. Low sunlight will cause it to lose its variegation. Keep away from direct sunlight as it may burn the leaves.

Watering

* Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
* Apply 1 cup (Approx. 50 ml) water when the top soil (1-2 inch) in pot feels dry to touch.
* Apply water probably in the morning or evening time.
* Do not overwater the plant.
* As a rule of thumb, water the plant thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.

Fertilization

Before application of fertilizer loosen the topsoil without disturbing the roots of the plant so it can uptake the nutrients and moisture. During the main growing season (Feb-May, July-Sept.) feed the plant with organic fertilizer once a month. Apply water immediately after application of fertilizer. Another important thing to remember is that the fertilizers should be applied only in the evening and it may burn the roots during the daylight. Winter is the month when fertilizers should be avoided.

Plant Care Tips

  1. Mealybugs or scale may hide under stems and leaves. To remove the pests, use a spray bottle of water or wipe the insects off gently with a bit of rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or cotton swab. Repeated applications will be necessary to remove the pests’ offspring. If the plant is too heavily infested, it may be better to take a clean cutting from it and start anew.
  2. Loss of variegation in money plant: It means plant needs a bit more light.
  3. Blackened leaves or stems or leaf spots – Indicates overwatering. Ensure the soil is only moist and not soaked.
  4. Leaves on the bottom turning yellow – Could be due to overwatering or underwatering. As plant ages, the oldest leaves eventually yellow and die off. So, it could just be the natural progression of your plant. Also, it may have a nutrient deficiency, so try adding a half strength liquid fertilizer in with your next watering.
  5. Leaves shrivelled, yellow & brown edges – Indicates plant is underwatered. Cut the affected leaves at the base of their stems, as this will ensure new growth and increase the frequency of watering.

Our Favourable Aspects

  1. Potting Mixture: It’s a mixture of appropriate amounts of soil, cocopeat & organic vermicompost. Provides best environment to the plant’s roots. It also contains slow-release Fertilizer which gives nutrients to the plants every time it is watered for 6 months.
  2. Packaging: Plant is secured in a good quality cardboard packaging. Inner Box holds the potted plant in place so that any movement during transit does not affect the plant. Outer box has slits which allow the plant to breathe freely during transit.
